Hair grooming tools can be used efficiently to get hair to do what you want it to do. Straight hair can be given waves with a diffuser attached to a hairdryer. Curls can be made into many different shapes with curling tongs or flattened with a hairdryer and straightening irons. Straightening irons should be used with an appropriate spray that suits your hair style. If you iron your hair regularly you need to be aware that it’s delicate and requires lots of care and the right products to keep it healthy: mousse, gel and conditioner (leave in) can all protect you. When ironing your hair always put a protector in, slowly draw the irons down from the root to the end, at all times keeping the irons moving and following the direction of the cuticle. This will help your hair lie flat and provide a beautiful shiny look.

Additional tips for keeping your hair healthy:

Drink lots of water. Every day you should drink eight glasses of water (two liters). Drinking water will hydrate your hair.

Get enough sleep. Looking after your body and hair starts with getting regular amounts of sleep. Lack of sleep can affect your skin and hair.

Exercise to stay healthy. When swimming it is best to apply conditioner to combat chlorine

Be aware of how much you touch your hair. Try to avoid touching, flicking, picking rubbing of hair as this can all cause damage

There are a multitude of Hair Curling Irons on the market today, but it is important to choose the right curling iron for the type of hair that you have. There are a variety of different types of sizes and types of irons that will give you a different type of look depending on your hair length and type. Its important to look into the types of heat settings that the hair curling iron you are looking at has. The main things to look for when buying a hair curling iron are how many heat settings does the iron have . Different heat settings will help you to achieve different types of curls.

The next thing you are going to want to keep in mind is what type of curls are you looking for? Every iron will curl your hair in a different way. In order to understand what types of curls you will get from your iron it is important to look at the length and thickness of the barrel of the hair curling iron. The size of the barrel will change the size of your curls so it is important to understand this and try out different models to get a feel for what you need.

As a general rule the larger the size of the barrel of the hair curling iron the larger the curl you will get when curling your hair with a curling iron. The same obviously applies for smaller curls or shorter hair you will need a shorter barrel on your iron. Finally last but not least your going to want to look at the quality of the iron itself, what type of material is it made from. There are several different types of materials that hair curling irons are made from but mainly they are either ceramic or metal. The ceramic irons are the most popular they are said to be better at not damaging your hair with daily usage. They help to seal the moisture into your hair thus preventing damage to your hair. Metal irons use steam to achieve hair curling so these irons are better for people that have very thin hair and are not recommended to be used on a daily basis, every other day is fine. There is also a brush style of hair curling iron and these are good for women with less thick hair fand they are recommended for daily usage.
